Kentucky farmers face some planting disruptions from scattered rains

Scattered precipitation caused some disruptions for Kentucky farmers.

Corn is 65 percent planted, 49 percent of the crop emerged, and 73 percent is rated good to excellent. Soybeans are 46 percent planted, and 31 percent emerged. Tobacco is 14 percent set.

Winter wheat is 95 percent headed, with 80 percent of the crop rated good to excellent. 

Pastures are rated 85 percent good to excellent.  Strawberries are rated 72% good to excellent. 

Topsoil and subsoil moisture are both rated 97 percent adequate to surplus.
