Iowa U.S. Representative Steve King has re-introduced his bill to prohibit states from imposing strict animal agriculture production standards on farmers in other states.
King’s Protect Interstate Commerce Act was included in the House version of the farm bill last spring but was stripped from the final bill. King says the issue is even more urgent now that the Supreme Court has declined to hear challenges to animal welfare regulations enacted by California and Massachusetts.
