American Farmland Trust and USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service are training professionals to help farmland change hands in the coming years.
ATF’s Farms for a New Generation Director Erica Goodman tells Brownfield increased training is needed as nearly 300 million acres of American farmland are expected to transition ownership in the next two decades.
“They’re hearing from the landowners that they might not have someone poised to take over, or not sure how to best facilitate that transfer succession process,” she shares.
