This last week of February has seen temperatures jump across the Midwest.
Central Illinois farmer Ken Franklin grows corn and soybeans with his family in Christian County. He tells Brownfield they’ve utilized the nice days…
“Record-breaking in some spots,” he says. “Ground was dry, so we had a little bit of anhydrous left to put on in some patches and we were able to get it knocked out. It went on really, really nice.”
Franklin says the dry soil conditions are a bit of a concern…
“We don’t see many tiles running.” He says, “Some of the big ones are, you know, that feed a lot of acres, but it’s pretty dry down deep.
