Congress is working out the details of a new budget after an agreement was reached on a $1.6 trillion funding limit over the weekend and an agricultural lobbyist says the work will take priority over advancing a new farm bill.
Randy Russell with the Russell Group says House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn “GT” Thompson has a plan for the next farm bill after spending work has been completed.
“It would be his intent to try to get a bill marked up a bill in committee and shortly after, take it to the floor.
