At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle were higher watching direct business develop. Feeder cattle were mostly lower, pressured by the higher move in corn. June live cattle closed $.20 higher at $176.15 and August lives closed $.40 higher at $174.12. August feeders closed $.15 lower at $250.90 and September feeders closed $.10 lower at $251.97.
There was a solid round of direct cash cattle trade on Friday. For the week, dressed deals in the North were at $295, fully steady with the previous week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska.
