Chicago Mercantile Exchange live cattle futures were higher, supported
by the steady to higher, but lightly traded, direct business during the
session. The USDA’s cattle on feed and inventory numbers are out on Friday the
19th. August was up $.60 at $108.47 and October was $.65 higher at $109.97.
Feeder cattle were lower, pressured by the higher move in corn. August
was down $1.02 at $141.60 and September was $.72 lower at $142.55.
