At the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, live cattle ended the day mixed adjusting spreads. Feeder cattle were lower on profit-taking. October live cattle closed $.30 higher at $125.57 and December live cattle closed $.15 higher at $130.24. October feeder cattle closed $.87 lower at $159.47 and November feeder cattle closed $.45 lower at $161.15.
It was a relatively quiet end to the week for direct cash cattle trade activity. Southern live deals were at mostly $124, steady to $1 higher than the previous week’s business.
