The USDA says meat production is still up on the year after posting declines from last month.
“When you look at beef, we reduced some production in late 2018 and moved that into some additional production in 2019.”
Outlook Board Chairman Seth Meyer says the pork sector also had noticeable production changes including reduced 2018 production which is expected to carry over into 2019.
Meyer says pork prices were up a dollar per head from last month and most other livestock prices were unchanged.
