
The newest member of the Senate Agriculture Committee is
Republican Kelly Loeffler of Georgia. Loeffler, who grew up on a McLean County,
Illinois farm, was sworn in Monday to replace Johnny Isakson, who resigned at
the end of 2019 because of declining health. An Agri-Pulse article says the Ag
Committee seat taken by Loeffler was vacated by Georgia Senator David Perdue.
Loeffler brings the number of women in the Senate to 26, eight of whom are on
the Ag Committee.
