Maple syrup production was up this spring in the key production states.
Michigan producers used 570-thousand taps to produce 190-thousand gallons of syrup, up 40-thousand gallons from 2021.
Wisconsin had 920-thousand taps which yielded 440-thousand gallons of syrup this spring.
The top producing states are Vermont, New York, and Maine with Wisconsin ranked 4th and Michigan ranked 6th. Overall, the U.S. producers made more than five million gallons of maple syrup this spring.
