POET Biorefining in Marion, Ohio has opened it’s 80-million-gallon expansion, more than doubling the ethanol plant’s yearly capacity to 150-million-gallons. POET says the plant will also produce 360-thousand tons of high protein animal feed each year.
POET officials say the Marion expansion creates demand for an extra 26-million-bushels of corn for area farmers “at a time when agriculture faces serious economic challenges.” The Marion (Ohio) plant opened 10 years ago.
