Market Wagon, an online farmers market, is delivering local food to hundreds of doorsteps.
CEO and Co-Founder Nick Carter says he wanted to help family farmers succeed by getting their products directly to consumers.
“I’m a farmer myself, so this is a business of passion. I started this business because I didn’t want to be the last Carter to farm on our farm,” he says. “Because of the market that we’ve been able to create and the opportunity we’ve created, not only our farm is thriving again, but thousands of others like us.”
He tells Brownfield the online platform allowed farmers to sell their products during one of the most challenging two years in farming and food production—the coronavirus pandemic.
