The Senate Ag committee continues to work on a farm bill and it’s expected to move on it next month, “I am told that the Senate will be marking up a bill in June. That we will mark up our version of the farm bill in June. I know they have failed to pass the farm bill in the House.” Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill, a Democrat, told reporters Thursday. She says she’s has been assured by the chairman and ranking member of the committee that there WILL be a Senate version next month, and it won’t be a partisan bill, “I can assure you that it will not include some of the Draconian measures that were put in place in regards to the SNAP program in the House.”
Senate Ag Committee Chairman Pat Roberts as said the Senate Farm bill, unlike the House version, will be bipartisan.
