The Michigan Department of Agriculture has created a portal
resource to help farmers impacted by crop disasters this year.
Communications director Jennifer Holton tells Brownfield the
agency has compiled all resources available for farmers dealing with extreme
weather and difficult planting conditions.
“Both the State of Michigan, this administration, USDA, MSU Extension and others are fully committing to doing all that we can to help our farmers through this incredibly challenging time.”
She says about two-thirds of Michigan cropland has been
affected in some way and they’ll be updating the site as new resources become available.
