Another antitrust lawsuit has been filed against America’s largest meatpackers. Pacific Agri-Products, Inc. has filed a class action complaint against JBS USA, Tyson Foods, Cargill, National Beef Packing Company, and Marfrig Global Foods.
The complaint filed in Minnesota District Court October 16th claims the meatpackers entered into contracts or conspiracy to fix, maintain, and raise the price of beef to levels that cannot be sustained in a competitive market. The complaint alleges the packers have been doing this since at least 2015.
