A meteorologist
is keeping a close eye on weather conditions in South America.
Eric Snodgrass, the principal atmospheric scientist with Nutrien Ag Solutions, says many soybean producing areas in northern Brazil are turning wet during a critical point in the season.
“It’s like us going over super wet in October, we don’t want that, we want to get a crop out in October and want dry conditions,” he says. “If they have any delay in their safrinha crop due to not getting the first crop of soybeans out in time we could see some support here in the US.”
He says some
of the long-range forecasts are hinting at a dry finish to the crop in Argentina.
