Michigan farmers continue to lag behind last year and the five-year average planting pace.
The USDA says corn is 64 percent planted, 40 percent has emerged, and condition is rated 69 percent good to excellent. Soybeans are 45 percent planted, 26 percent has emerged.
Oats in are 79 percent planted, 61 percent emerged, and condition is rated 78 percent good to excellent. Ninety percent of sugarbeets have emerged and condition is rated 92 percent good to excellent.
