The Michigan Department of Treasury has started to help
farmers impacted by the wet spring by offsetting the cost of low-interest loan
fees.
In an earlier interview with Brownfield, Governor Gretchen Whitmer said she’s trying to help farmers get their job done. “Obviously our farmers have been hit by Mother Nature this year and that’s just been devastating for many.”
The Agriculture Loan Origination Program has $15 million
for farmers to cover the cost of loan fees to help get them to next year.
