Direct cash cattle trade is quiet with just a few starter bids noted in Kansas at $110 live. Asking prices are around $115 to $116 live and $180 to $185 dressed. Packer inquiry is expected to improve as the day and week progress. But if business reflects recent weeks – the majority of deals won’t be completed until last minute on Friday. Today’s Fed Cattle Exchange had a meager offering of 464 head. None actually sold, but 344 head were listed as Passed Offer of $112.
