Milk futures on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange traded mixed Thursday with little to no direction from the cash market. May Class III milk up a penny at $16.28. June down a penny at $16.23. July two cents higher at $16.43. August up four cents at $16.78. September through January contracts unchanged to six cents higher. Dry whey unchanged at $0.34. Five trades were made ranging from $0.3375 to $0.34. Blocks unchanged at $1.6575. Barrels unchanged at $1.6125. Butter up $0.0125 at $2.3850. Nonfat dry milk unchanged at $1.05. European milk production during March was up more than one percent with the UK and Ireland seeing the largest increases.
