A farmer in southwest Minnesota says he forward contracted most of his new crop soybeans.
Bob Worth also grows corn near Lake Benton.
“We are well sold in soybeans, well sold. Corn, we are not far sold but we’ve got like 120 bushel average sold, so that’s good.”
He tells Brownfield they’re already marketing for 2022 and 2023.
“We want to play the game and make sure we get a good base number for us so we know where we are, because all of our inputs are really going up.”
Worth expects to pay more for rent, fertilizer, seed, and says he’s heard chemicals are going to be in short supply and much more expensive.
