The Minnesota House has passed legislation that provides
resources to address farmer mental health.
House Ag Committee chair Jeanne Poppe says the situation for many farm families is getting more dyer.
“We have farmers who have not been able to make money for the last number of years, and with the weather, some farmers have faced roof collapses and deaths of animals, and other situations. It’s just getting more and more stressful.”
The bill boosts funding for farm advocate services and
farmer-lender mediators.
