The CEO of the Minnesota Pork Producers is pleased with preventative steps taken domestically as African Swine Fever continues to spread in other parts of the world.
David Preisler says the U.S. pork sector has actively engaged USDA and others in a collaborative effort.
“There have been discussions on surveillance, stepped-up biosecurity and inspections at the borders, which just plain need to occur.”
ASF is circulating in China and parts of Europe.
