Minnesota Pork CEO calls for patience as USDA rolls out Spot Market Hog Pandemic Program

Pork producers are encouraged to be patient as USDA rolls out more pandemic aid.

Minnesota Pork CEO David Preisler tells Brownfield Farm Service Agency offices are waiting for more information about the Spot Market Hog Pandemic Program.

“And there are still some determinations from a standpoint of what will qualify and what will not qualify that are being made at both the state and federal level.”

He says pigs marketed directly to a packer through a negotiated formula qualify for assistance, but feeder pigs and sows do not.
