
Five of Missouri’s leading ag groups applaud the state Tax
Commission’s decision not to propose a tax increase on Missouri farm land.
The Missouri Farm Bureau, Cattlemen’s Association, Pork
Association, Soybean and Corn Growers Associations issued a response to the decision
saying they are grateful to member of the commission for recognizing the impact
an increase in productivity values would have on the states top industry.
The groups say it would have taken a “tremendous toll” on Missouri farm families and rural communities if productivity values on ag land would have been raised – because farmers are dealing with the combined effects of flooding, weak prices and trade uncertainty.
