Wet weather continues to delay field work in parts of the Corn Belt. Jay
Schutte was on the cusp of being able to begin field work until weather
intervened.
“We had about 4 inches of snow last Sunday and it’s really set us back some,”
Schutte told Brownfield Ag News. “It’s going to be a challenging year; we got
no fall work done, no fertilizer put down. When it’s time to run we better have
our boots laced on tight.”
The Mexico, Missouri farmer tells Brownfield he’s encouraged that he was able
to apply herbicide on some corn ground that he does not till.
