Missouri crops progressing faster, at lower quality

Missouri crops are progressing faster than last year, but dry weather continues to harm them.

Corn silking is 95 percent complete as of Sunday. The crop is rated only 35 percent good to excellent.

Soybeans blooming reached 69 percent, 15 percentage points ahead of last year. Thirty-two percent of soybeans are setting pods and the crop is 48 percent good to excellent.

Cotton setting bolls is at 89 percent, 70 percentage points ahead of last year.
