When it comes to the effects of the Missouri drought on agriculture, Governor Mike Parson gets it. He had to feed hay to his cattle two weeks ago, for the first time in his life during the month of August, “I’m not the only one that’s doing that. But, anytime you’re feeding hay in the state of Missouri in August, I guarantee ya it’s not a good sign for any farmers in this state, whether you’re row crop or whether you’re livestock.”
Parson told reporters Monday he’s fully aware of the toll the drought is taking on Missouri farmers, “We’ve had numerous stories about farmers selling off livestock, baling corn and in need of access to more water.
