A Missouri grower says his early planted corn is now four to five feet tall. Kyle Kirby has 80% of his soybeans planted and says all his crops, including wheat, are looking good, telling Brownfield Ag News, “We’ve just really had garden conditions here in southwest Missouri.”
As of Sunday, the USDA says, corn emergence in Missouri was ahead of last year and the average at 91%.
Soybean planting in the state is also ahead, at 77 percent complete and 52 percent has emerged, more than 20-percentage points above average.
