Missouri launches broadband grant program

Missouri’s new broadband grant program has been launched and

will award $5 Million dollars to bring high speed internet to areas of the

state that don’t have it.

Missouri Ag Director Chris Chinn says the state’s rural and urban communities are ready to put the funds to work – with the long-term goal of connecting all Missouri communities, “down to the last mile.”

Governor Mike Parson says it’s a huge problem that nearly 20% of Missourians don’t have high speed internet and that broadband “is exactly the kind of infrastructure that Missouri needs to grow and thrive in the future.”

The state legislature created the broadband grant program

last year and funding it during this year’s session.
