MMPA expands Constantine plant

The Michigan Milk Producers Association has announced a $24 million expansion project in Southwest Michigan.

President Ken Nobis tells Brownfield since 2000, Michigan has almost doubled milk production and by 2007, their co-op saw the need for more processing in the state.  “Nobody expected production to increase at the rate that it did for as long as it did.  In our co-op, that’s kind of where we got behind.”  He says MMPA has incorporated other expansions since but with the rapid increases in production, it’s been difficult keeping up.
