Much warmer days ahead, centered on the Plains; most seasonal rainfall across the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of above-normal temperatures across the central one-third of the U.S. and the Southeast, while cooler-than-normal conditions will cover the West and Northeast.

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal rainfall across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in the western Gulf Coast region and portions of the upper Great Lakes States.
