Ag equipment sales were up for the month of February compared to a year ago with an 18% increase in tractors and a 22% increase in combines.
“With the really big bright spots being under 40 horsepower tractors are seeing a significant growth, kind of continuing on with the growth we have had the last 18 months. But, we’re about 20% up year over year with under 40 horsepower tractors and then compared to February of last year we’re up about 25% month over month.”
Curt Blades with the Association of Equipment Manufacturers says a replacement market and optimism of farmers towards the future is driving the increase, but current ag industry issues could sway those numbers downward in future reports.
