The National Biodiesel Board is again calling on Congress to
act before the end of the year on the Tax Extenders package that includes the
Biodiesel Tax Credit.
NBB vice president of federal affairs Kurt Kovarik says nine
biodiesel producers have been forced to close, cut production and lay off
workers since the credit was allowed to expire nearly two years ago.
In a news release, Kovarik thanked Democratic Representatives Abby Finkenauer of Iowa and Kendra Horn of Oklahoma for sending a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal urging them to make the extension of expired tax incentives an urgent legislative priority.
