Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of below-normal temperatures in much of the Northwest and from the Plains to the Atlantic Coast, excluding southern Florida. Meanwhile, warmer-than-normal conditions should be limited to a few areas west of the Rockies, including parts of Oregon, California, the Great Basin, and the Southwest.
Elsewhere, below-normal precipitation in parts of the northern U.S., including the Midwest, should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather across the lower Southeast and from Oregon and California eastward to the High Plains.
