Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures throughout the northern half of the U.S., while cooler-than-normal conditions will be confined to the South. 

Meanwhile, near- or below-normal precipitation in Midwest and Northeast should contrast with wetter-than-normal weather across the remainder of the country, including the western and southern U.S.
