Nebraska cancels live poultry events amid HPAI spread, fourth case confirmed

The Nebraska Department of Agriculture is cancelling all live poultry events across the state.

NDA says the order was issued because of a spike in highly parthenogenic avian influenza cases and is in effect until May 1.

The order prohibits birds of any type at events including fairs, expositions, swap meets, exotic sales and live bird auctions.

A fourth case of HPAI has been confirmed within the state in Holt County.
