A northeast Nebraska farmer says the drought is one of his biggest concerns heading into the growing season.
Jeff Baker raises corn and soybeans on 1400 acres near Pender. “We’re coming off of two years of drought,” he said, “and then having an exceedingly warm winter and a dry winter too.”
He tells Brownfield he plans to start planting sometime next month. “I actually usually plant beans first, so I kind of try to wait for that insurance date which I think is the 25th of April.
