Nebraska farmer expects an average harvest

A South-Central Nebraska farmer says he expects his crops to perform better than most in his area because of spotty rain this summer.

“It hung on better than I imagined they ever would.”

Daren Niemeyer tells Brownfield his crop is slightly behind schedule. “You can go from mile to mile and crops look completely different. I’ve seen some guys that went in to cut some beans already that were  not too good of shape and a few guys picking in some pivot corners and some dry lands here and there.”

He says he’s not expecting a bumper crop.
