Nebraska ranch with new supply chain tracking technology has steers hit the market

A Nebraska ranch that used first-of-its kind technology to track cattle through the supply chain are now available for purchase.

Jacklyn Wilson with Flying Diamond Beef says she gathered data from genomic testing for tenderness, facial recognition and implanted health sensors for six months. The results, she says, has created a niche market. “One of the biggest places we’ve gotten the most interest from is the banking industry,” Wilson says. “To be able to prove something that you actually have something that you say it is really something that attorneys are looking at banking is looking at.”

Wilson says health data and proof-of-life records help increase transparency, and they’re eager to see the return on investment.
