Nebraska to test E30 in conventional state vehicles

The state of Nebraska, in a pilot program approved by the federal EPA, will study the use of E30 fuel in conventional, non-flex fuel, state vehicles.

Sarah Caswell, administrator of the Nebraska Ethanol Board, says the demonstration program will assess the effects of E30—a blend of 30 percent ethanol and 70 percent regular gasoline—on vehicle performance, fuel economy and emissions control systems. She says it’s designed to evaluate the use of E30 in conventional vehicles compared to the same type vehicles operating on E10 and E15 blends.
