
Nebraska’s winter wheat crop is looking good this spring.
The weekly crop progress report rates the crop 8 percent excellent, 66 percent good, 21 fair and 5 percent poor to very poor.
Oats planting was 8 percent complete, behind 17 last year, and well behind the five-year average of 30 percent.
Topsoil moisture supplies rated 2 percent short, 63 adequate, and 35 surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 4 percent short, 67 adequate, and 29 surplus.
