Newspaper ads take administration biofuel policies to task

Growth Energy has an open letter to President Trump in Monday’s New York Times, New York Post, and Wall Street Journal urging him to “cut red tape holding back homegrown energy.”  The letter also takes to task EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt for issuing RFS hardship waivers to refiners of questionable eligibility.

“We need some answers,” said Emily Skor, CEO of Growth Energy, in an earlier interview with Brownfield Ag News.  “EPA has been handing out, under the cover of night, waivers to small refiners exempting them from their obligation to blend biofuel, and the problem with that is every waiver granted is a gallon of biofuel that isn’t blended.”

The president campaigned on being strong for rural America and on supporting the Renewable Fuel Standard, said Skor.
