The recent consolidations in the ag industry are a concern
for National Farmers Union members who are meeting this week with lawmakers in
D.C.
NFU’s Rob Larew tells Brownfield they believe consolidation
has had a negative impact on agriculture, “It’s this ongoing impact. This has
been a long time coming even as commodity prices remain in the tank and demand
is on the drag, and so forth. Input costs, in general, continue to rise.”
Larew says it’s meant fewer choices for farmers and a
growing impact on their ability to improve their bottom line.
