It’s not only if nitrogen is applied to the corn crop, it’s also a matter of when. Golden Harvest agronomist Scott Gard is doing research on the timing of nitrogen fertilizer applications to corn. Gard says the nitrogen research is to determine how application timing changes plant growth and performance. Part of the trial is a split application of nitrogen at different points in the season, which is compared to a single application later.
