The USDA’s deadline to sign up for the 2020 Dairy Margin
Coverage program was Friday. Wisconsin’s
Farm Service Agency Director Sandy Chalmers tells Brownfield Friday was mostly quiet
at the state’s FSA offices, with no last-minute rush to sign up.
The deadline was extended from December 13th to
allow more time for signups.
Farmers had the option of saving on premiums by signing up
for all five years of the DMC program under the Farm Bill.
Chalmers says she expects to have Wisconsin’s enrollment
figures before Christmas.
