A corn and soybean farmer in north-central Iowa calls yields surprisingly good.
Brent Renner of Klemme says the growing season was dry and a late July hail storm caused some damage.
“That really set them back, but other than that we were I would say very pleasantly surprised with our soybean yields. They were still a little bit variable, but for the most part above 65 bushels (per acre), which kind of blew my mind.”
Renner is done harvesting soybeans and tells Brownfield with about 400 acres of corn left, yields are equally surprising.
