A north Iowa farmer is waiting to begin planting.
Casey Schlichting of Clear Lake says he’s noticed a trend with his earlier planted corn.
“It struggles to come out of the ground and it doesn’t look great for awhile, then it finally gets going and catches up. And the last corn we plant looks phenomenal and hops out of the ground nice and green and everything is good to go, so we’re going to take a little slower approach this year.”
He farms about 1,200 acres and tells Brownfield it usually takes less than a week to finish corn planting.
