Oat harvest is progressing across Iowa.
USDA’s latest crop report lists the pace slightly ahead of the five-year average at 36 percent, and north-central Iowa farmer Rusty Olson tells Brownfield growing conditions have been good.
“We’ve had really good rainfalls this year (and) our crops actually look phenomenal overall. The oats grew up and I’ve got some oats I’m just going out to cut right now (that are) up to four and-a-half feet tall and are almost ready to fall over.
